Thanks, Rod. It's a unique and gratifying thing to be able to participate in someone's worship life like that, even if I've never met you. That's why I want to connect with y'alls through this site. I'm not currently attending any church, and I've found that's made writing a worship album much harder because I don't have a context for what I'm doing. So, I'm starting to work on plugging in where I can, and I liked what I saw in Eric and Sue and the feel of what you guys have created, so it's a no-brainer for me to be here and re-connect with the root of what the music is for.
About Prayer Of Thanks: For the record, all of my best lyric "writing" is just creative plagarism. That song is directly adapted from the Book Of Common Prayer, and a lot of my other stuff is just reworking Scripture authors to be more musical. For lyrics that are rich, meaningful and nuanced, it's just less taxing for my tiny brain to go to the source... :) I think my voice mostly shows up in creating the music and crafting the writing for singing. But, I'll let you know when I write something as good as Psalm 22. (Is it too late to get something canonized...?) |
