I have discovered an interesting addition to the bundle of blessings I have received from God during my fast. He has given me a new sense of Christian Maturity. I have never in my life felt I was very mature spiritually. but last night I took a long look back over the road that Jesus has had me on over the last 3 years. It was 3 years ago this month that I began asking questions of my family and friends which would lead me to giving faith another try. It was 3 years ago that I first asked my wife if she would feel better if I was a Christian, and the first time that she admitted that she would. I love her too much to fake it though, what I had to do was explore and ponder and engage. To try it on and see where it would leave me both intellectually and emotionally. I began going to church in April, which would eventually lead to me coming here. That was the beginning, of course. But throughout I can see God's fingerprints everywhere. Becoming involved in worship, the fundraiser for Sean, lunch meetings with Eric, Pilgrim groups, being asked to become a leader, and yes even through the emotional crash I had at the beginning of this year.

All of it has led me to a place where not only must I acknowledge that yes, I believe there is a God, but also to acknowledge that he is discipling me. I feel that God is now calling me into a time of meditating on what it means to be a mature Christian, what that will look like, how that will play out, what I can do and how best to follow his lead. This is the 3rd message I've received from him during my fast. I am excited to see where he will lead me next.
