Hello from the East Coast, from beautiful Gloucester MA (pronounced "GLAW-stuh" up here, Jack). Karen and I are here for vacation, her sister got married this past weekend and we are housesitting for the remainder of this week. It is an incredibly beautiful place, we are about 100 yards off the water. If you have seen the movie "The Perfect Storm", Gloucester is the town that it is set in. Also here is the Gorton's Seafood plant, for all you frozen-food afficianados. Seafood here is plentiful, wonderful and cheap!
I experienced a happy childhood flashback yesterday...we stopped at a little ice cream shop on the bay, and they offered up something I hadn't seen in years-the cherry dipped soft serve ice cream cone. It was my favorite as a kid, and I can't recall the last time I had seen one/had one-Dairy Queen offers chocolate and sometimes butterscotch, but no cherry. It was awesome-a great billowing pile of soft serve vanilla ice cream on a cone, turned upside down and skillfully dipped in a vat of chemical-laden red goo. The result is a shade of red that simply can't be found in nature, but only in man's laboratories, and a flavor that is nothing like cherry but is instead a wonderful waxy/chalky nastily sweet concoction of artificial goodness. Ah, the sweet memories of childhood come flooding back to me...sniff sniff.
Anyway, anxious to get back to the Old Pueblo and knuckle down with Buckshot Blu (welcome back, K2!). We are hoping to get in the studio in July and get out our first EP/LP?? something recorded, anyway. See you all soon..
Oh, Benji, we regretfully will have to miss your wedding-congratulations to you both!
